Pediatric First Aid Training Course

Shayan: Because children are known for being curious and miniature detectives, they are more prone to encounter emergencies throughout their lives. For this reason, parents should be at least somewhat knowledgeable about basic first aid in order to preserve the safety of their kids and prevent subsequent health difficulties.

The Department of Nursing holds onto a training course entitled Pediatric First Aid Training Course during six days (24 hours) from September 17th to September 24th under the slogan “Learn First Aid as a Parent to Save Your Kids.”

The training course’s first day began with a speech from the department’s head, Dr. Dara Abdulla Al-Banna, who also gave a brief introduction to first aid and its significance for children. The contents were a following:

First Day: Introduction to Child Growth and Development

Section one: Child’s growth and development by Dr. Shukri Hasan, PhD in pediatric Nursing.

Section Two:” Developmental characteristics of infants & children” by Ms. Shaimaa Shahab, B.Sc. In Nursing.

Second Day: CPR & Chocking in Children

Section One: CPR for children by Miss. Shaimaa Shahab, B.Sc. In Nursing.

Section Two: Choking in children by Mrs. Asma Yaseen Mawlud, B.Sc. in Nursing.

Third Day: Vital Sign Management in Children

Section One: Introduction of vital signs in children by Dr. Shukri Hasan, PhD in Pediatric Nursing.

Section Two: Vital signs measurement in children by Mrs. Asma Yaseen Mawlud, B.Sc. In Nursing.

Fourth Day: Fever & Seizure + Diarrhea & Vomiting in Children

Section One: First Aid for fever & seizure by Dr. Shukri Hasan, PhD in Pediatric Nursing.

Section two: First aid for seizure in children by Mrs. Asmaa Yaseen, BSc. Nursing.

Fifth Day: Burn Management in Children

Section One: Introduction of all types of burn and degree in burn by Mrs. Asmaa Yaseen, B.Sc.

In Nursing.

Section Two: First aid for burn in child children by Mrs. Asma Yaseen Mawlud, B.Sc. In Nursing.

Sixth Day: Trauma Management in Children

Section One: Mentioning all the types of the trauma in children by Mrs. Asma Yaseen Mawlud,

B.Sc. In Nursing.

Section Two: First Aid for all types of traumas by Mrs. Asma Yaseen Mawlud, B.Sc. In Nursing.

A certificate of appreciation was given to the speaker, organizer, and volunteers at the conclusion of the training course as a thank you for their tireless efforts on behalf of the dean Prof. Dr. Hiwa Banna and head of the department Dr. Dara Abdulla Al-Banna, as well as to our future leaders, the students, and the beloved staff.
